ENGULFED

With the rapid increase of global warming, each day that goes by means more ice melting, and the sea level rising. This effects many, both wildlife and human alike. However, this story is focusing on two packs, Mystic Edge and Dusk Star. They live in the lower quarters of Florida, and the sea level is catching up to them. The two packs, both painfully aware of each other due to their rivalry with one another, decide to leave the forest they call home and make it up to the closest city and stay there for a while. Currently, many have not evacuated the city, so as they draw closer to it, they know they have to be careful not to get caught by the locals and that they cannot fully insert themselves into the environment. They also know the city will eventually be caught up in flood water as well, so their stay there cannot be for long. But it's their best bet for survival at the moment. Prey in the forest is scarce, and predators are lurking behind them in wait. A few loners lurk around them as well. Life has become a real struggle for the two packs.

As the packs struggle to reach dry land, will the packs continue to clash with one another? Or will they join together, supporting each other in their time of need? Will their decision drive some of their current pack members into leaving, either becoming loners or forming an entirely new pack?
