Mystic Edge has been the longest surviving pack out of the two, going five generations back. As for how long they've been in the area, they've been there since their last generation. The alphas are treated like royalty, and they make sure to treat their underlings justly as well. The alpha rank is handed down to the alpha's most potential pup, and if the alpha has had no pup, the wolf passes the rank down to their most trusted and reliable pack mate. The pack is generally respectful to others, even outsiders, and show courtesy unless it's not shown to them. While they are mostly pacifistic and would rather be diplomatic, they are not afraid to show off their fangs and claws when needed. And they make sure their pack mates know to fight, as they will spar with one another for training and one thing's for certain, they certainly don't go easy. Just hard enough to make sure you don't die. They would consider themselves a pack of regal knights.
Dusk Star is a recently scrapped together pack, forming out of loners in the area. Their formation was originally a bit unstable, as wolves scatter about to lay their claim of higher ranks. But now, they've settled down quite well. With it being the pack's first generation, it is unknown how they'll pass down the alpha rank as the generations go on. So far, they are still figuring out their creed, but thus far they've settled on focusing on themselves more than anyone else. One for the pack, and the pack for all. Well, except for outsiders. They can be manipulative and dirty handed. They prioritize their pack to over the one, even if that means the sacrifice of a fellow member. And a majority of them have become loyal enough to do so. They are a pack to reckoned with due to their trust in one another and take one for the team style. They would consider themselves a pack of sly opportunists.
The two packs have been rivals since Dusk Star was formed, constantly competing for food and other resources available to them. They had a lot disagreements over territory, and would often end up fighting over it. The two have been at for around two years, bickering about this and that. Sometimes, the fights got pretty hairy, with physical fights breaking out. No one has been seriously injured in any of these fights however. Now that their territory is being engulfed in water, they have no more qualms about it. Both packs have decided to leave the area least they end up completely underwater. Both settle on going for the city a few hundred miles away. But will the city be big enough for both packs?
